adidas' Superstar Sneaker Looks Even Better In Peanut-Butter Leather

5 hours ago 2

adidas' Vintage Superstar sneaker is way sicker than the average. See, on its own, the adidas Superstar is a generational talent, viral before viral was really even a thing.

In fact, the Superstar's lore predates that of the ever-viral Samba.

And now the Superstar shoe is turning 55 in a way only it can with a collab with UK-based sneaker retailer Offspring. To celebrate the big 55, Offspring is turning adidas' Superstar Vintage sneaker, a modern revamp of the OG adidas Superstar, into an elevated stunner.

Enhancing a sneaker as legendary as the adidas Superstar without compromising its stylistic integrity is a delicate balance, and Offspring pulled it off without a hitch.

Like the OG Superstar, the Offspring collab sneaker wears a white leather upper with black faux-snakeskin Three Stripes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just make it better.

Well, for the outside that is. On the medial side, this Superstar sports a tonal white Three Stripes that blends into the sneaker’s white upper.

This luxe take on the adidas Superstar also swipes out the standard white shell toe for a peanut butter toe box that's just as scrumptious as it sounds. The extenuated stitching adds a subtle layer of textural intrigue that plays well with the heightened shell toe ridges. The collab also has a matching peanut butter sole that provides a nice tonal contrast to the stark white upper. This creamy goodness extends to the midsole and heel tab, which is also where you'll find adidas and Offspring co-branding.

While normal Superstars are always available on the adidas website for $100, this Superstar Vintage hits Offspring's website on December 19 for £160 (about $214). Personally, I can't think of a better way to celebrate 55.
