Popular Australian influencer left heartbroken over the death of her mother as she says her final farewell during emotional funeral

Popular Australian influencer Nadia Fairfax has posted a heartbreaking tribute to her mother, Sharon Fairfax, following her death earlier this month.

Sharing intimate family images from a memorial book, Nadia, 36, took to her Instagram Stories with a final farewell after her mum's funeral on Thursday.

'I'm still not able to believe this is real,' she said in the caption.

'Thank you to everyone who came to support my dad and I yesterday.

'She was truly one of the greats.'

Sharon, who died on December 2 at age 63, was married to publisher John B. Fairfax, a philanthropist and member of the famous media family.

Nadia, who rose to fame over a decade ago as fashion's 'It Girl', added a gorgeous black and white throwback image of her mother as part of her tribute.

The fashion guru also shared images from the funeral memorial book, which featured throwback pictures of her mother and her family.

One image saw Sharon showing off her well-known sense of style in a chic two-piece swimsuit. 

Interviewed after her loss last weekend, Nadia told Sunday Confidential: 'Mum was a pretty vibrant woman.'

Nadia added despite her grief, she went ahead with a party celebrating her daughter Cordelia's 2nd birthday.

'There’s no way that Mum would have wanted me to cancel anything. She loved to bring joy to the world, just like I do, and that’s what that was,' she said.

The socialite shares her toddler with her investment advisor husband Michael Wayne.

Nadia recorded the joyous arrival of their beloved first child with a post to Instagram in December 2023.

Nadia and Michael got married in March 2021 in a no-expense-spared ceremony at Swifts, a heritage-listed late-Victorian Gothic Revival mansion in Sydney's Darling Point.

High-profile guests at the event included former rugby league footballer Luke Ricketson and his wife Kate Waterhouse.

It has been reported the couple first met at Montarna McDonald's December 2018 wedding to Nick Pitt.

Nadia is considered one of Sydney's top socialites and has kept a high profile since she started blogging about fashion in 2013.

Michael is the Managing Director of Medallion Financial and a regular contributor on Sky Business.
