What's the fashion equivalent of feel-good energy? We'd wager that bright colors are a great place to start. This season's most dopamine-boosting trend — bold color — was exactly what we needed to capture the unbridled joy of our Feel-Good List cover stars: Lana Condor, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, and Taryn Delanie Smith. But true to form (and to their unique interests and personalities), they all approached it in a different way — with the help of our styling team: senior style director Jessica Andrews, shopping director Sarah Wasilak, and assistant shopping editor Naomi Parris.
Lana Condor, our Feel-Good Romantic, gravitated toward whimsical dresses with playful accessories. Our Feel-Good Icon, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, went the empowering boss route in a sleek coat and vertiginous heels. Taryn Delanie Smith, our Feel-Good Girls' Girl, was relatable AF in a color-blocked top and sporty skirt. And for her second look, she wore a blue fringe dress that captured the joy and ease of movement.
Another overarching theme our cover stars were happy to embrace? 2000s nostalgia. Condor's sky-high platforms, Bailon-Houghton's side part, and Smith's spandex dress all channeled Y2K style in the best way. It was the perfect complement to the old-school digital cameras and over-the-ear headphones they posed with playfully on set.
While fresh, glowy skin was a must for all our cover stars, they each leaned into their distinct signature beauty looks: Condor with face-framing layers and soft blush, Bailon-Houghton with a bouncy blowout and smoldering eyeshadow, and Smith sporting voluminous curls and glossy, pink lips.
