Was the writing always on the wall for the Braziers? Jeff predicted 'history would repeat itself' as it's revealed he's split from wife Kate and son Freddy has broken up with pregnant girlfriend Holly

Jeff Brazier predicted 'history will repeat itself' before he split from wife Kate Dwyer

The TV personality, 46, made his prediction last month when referencing the 'similarities' between himself and son Freddy, 21, who recently announced he is set to become a young father.

Jeff was just 23 when he became a father - welcoming son Bobby and later Freddy - with the late Jade Goody.

Yet ultimately their relationship wasn't meant to be and the pair split - leaving Jeff a single father - while Jade went on to marry Jack Tweed before she tragically died from cervical cancer in 2009.

History has now indeed been repeated, with Freddy set to become a single father after splitting from pregnant girlfriend Holly.

Jeff is also now single after splitting from PR guru Kate, 35, for the second time. The pair previously ended their relationship in late 2022 before reconciling seven months later.

The presenter shared a statement on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing their marriage broke down over summer after they discovered they couldn't make each other happy.

Freddy admitted he feels like a 'broken man' - prompting the question: is this a family cycle?  (Freddy pictured with Holly Swinburn in October)

Alongside a throwback photo from a family holiday, Jeff made reference to the difficult year they had faced due to fractured relations with his son Freddy, 21.

At the same time, Freddy has troubles of his own, saying his 'relationships are falling apart' as he prepares for fatherhood with Holly.

The father-to-be admitted he feels like a 'broken man' - prompting the question: was this all written in the stars?

Shortly before announcing his split Jeff shared his excitement to become a granddad, drawing on the 'similarities' between himself and Freddy after he became at dad at the age 23 and explained that he knows exactly how it feels.

Freddy announced he was set to become a father in September as his then ex partner Holly was pregnant, but they shortly reconciled.

Jeff recalled how himself and his late partner Jade had 'not really known each other for too long' when she fell pregnant.

Speaking to The Sun he said 'It’s like history is repeating itself'.

Jeff continued: 'I feel very excited to be a grandad soon. And we've been building a relationship with Holly and her family so that we're all as connected and aligned as possible with regards to how we can support these two.

'It is slightly intriguing actually when I think about the similarities about Jade and I having a child early, having not really known each other for too long before that. And then my mum had me when she was very young as well.

'If I could go back and do it all over again, then I would, just be a little bit less pressured. I don't feel like it's on me for the outcome to be perfect.'

But just days ago, Freddy took to Instagram with a heartbreaking post as he gathered his thoughts while on a late-night stroll around London.

Admitting he's been thinking about his mother, Freddy told his followers he's 'constantly questioning whether [he's] good enough'.

Sharing a picture of the London skyline on his podcast's social media page, he wrote: 'Head is so loud! Had to take myself on a late-night walk to clear my head. I've been thinking about my mum loads recently!

'I'm scared to be a dad as I'm a broken man. My relationships are all falling apart.

'I'm constantly questioning myself if I'm good enough. I'm trying to be healthy and stay away from green, but life is hard [right now] and I'm not sure how much more s**t I can take!'

Similarly, Jeff and Jade split up two years after the birth of Freddy.

They never confirmed the reasons for their break-up, but speaking in the Channel 4 documentary Jade Goody: The Reality Star That Changed Britain, Jeff suggested that newspaper reports played a part.

He said: 'Things that were personal to us kept appearing in the papers.

'[We'd ask] how do they know that? We were convinced that [each other] or people around us were selling stories and making money on things that were very contentious for us.

'You sold a story', 'no I haven't you must have done it', 'I haven't done it must be your mate', 'they haven't done it must be your mate', and trust disintegrated to nothing.'

Freddy had been embroiled in a high profile battle with his father, after he launched legal action in a bid to prevent the aspiring model from seeing his grandmother, Jade's mum, Jackiey Budden.

A source previously told The Daily Mail: 'Jeff took the boys in when Jade died, he took them away from the limelight and did his best to bring them up amid such difficult circumstances but sadly Freddy just can't see eye to eye with him.'

It was previously revealed that Jeff, had set up a court date to stop Freddy from seeing his maternal grandmother amid rising concerns over his well-being.

Jeff has long insisted she is a bad influence on the troubled youngster - with the pair enduring a series of very public disputes over the years.

Back in June, The Mail On Sunday revealed that Freddy was again spending time at Jackiey's Bermondsey flat despite his father filing court paperwork in an effort to keep his son away.

Family friends say the duo remain 'extremely close,' explaining: 'Jeff was never going to keep Freddy away from his Nanny for very long - they've always had a strong bond, Jeff may hate her for all sorts of reasons going back many years, but Freddy loves her very much.

'They had a great time together, playing with her dog and catching up at her flat - where he has often stayed over the years. Whatever Jeff hoped to achieve with his legal efforts, it hasn't worked.'

However the pair managed to work through their issues amid the news Freddy is set to become a father for the first time.

Jeff is said to be 'extremely supportive' alongside other close family and friends who have vowed to help him in any way they can.

A friend previously told The Mail on Sunday: 'It has blindsided him and has been one of the things that has really brought him and his dad back together but it's so devastating that Jade isn't here to see it.

'Jeff was one of the first people he decided to confide in to ask for advice, and he stepped up straight away and wanted to help in any way he could.'

It has been a difficult year for Freddy, who in June announced on Instagram that he was going to a rehabilitation centre in Spain, admitting he had been addicted to smoking since he was 12 and was keen to seek treatment.

He said: 'I've been smoking from the age of 12 and it's time to stop it was a bad coping mechanism that turned into an addiction something I relied on and something that made me feel sane and somewhat okay.'

Following her controversial stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2007, Jade found herself in rehab after admitting that she was suffering from stress and depression

But days after the admission, Freddy posted again online saying he had changed his mind, writing: 'You know what I don't need rehab. I just need a holiday with a good group of boys or a retreat.'

Freddy also accused his grandmother of getting him hooked on strong cannabis when he was just 12 - having previously insisted she had never been responsible for his drug use.

On his new podcast, he said: 'My nan is definitely the person who introduced me to reefer and got me hooked. It's one of those things, I was 12.

'I've been smoking since I was 12, I've been to rehab, I've been sectioned, I've had manic episodes, I've been sectioned. There's been a real journey and it's been a tough one.'

Following her controversial stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2007, Jade found herself in rehab after admitting that she was suffering from stress and depression.

However, she checked out after just five days after deciding that she could only cope with private consultations as a day patient.

Over the weekend, Freddy has appeared to reveal he tragically 'tried to end it all' over two years ago by 'crashing his car' in the middle of a 'manic episode.'

He took to TikTok to bravely share a video explaining his heartbreaking journey, with a generated voiceover in the video sharing the extent of the model's mental health struggles.

In the video, Freddy told his followers that he spent his 18th birthday 'in a psychiatric ward,' but realised after that 'something needed to change.'

The video began with a generated voiceover that said: '2.5 years ago after crashing a car in a manic episode in an attempt to end it all.'

He captioned the post: '2.5 years ago now, I'm f*****g proud of myself and I can't wait to tell my story.'

Showing how he realised he had to change his habits, he then wrote: 'Something clicked in my head needed to change! Started getting out more.'

While the news of Freddy becoming a father has brought him closer to Jeff, Freddy's relationship with the mother of his child has not been smooth sailing

He added that he then decided to start 'eating better,' and focused on his close circle of friends and prioritising 'self-love.'

The video then showed images of himself attending events, training in the gym and eating salads for lunch, along with the words: 'Eating better. Time away from London. Bit of training. Small circle. My doggo. Skincare and self love.'

While the news of Freddy becoming a father has brought him closer to Jeff, Freddy's relationship with the mother of his child has not been smooth sailing.

After months of being on-off with his girlfriend Holly Swinburn, the two have now officially split Daily Mail can exclusively reveal.

Freddy has told friends he has dumped Holly, who is pregnant with his child, and she reacted by trying to take his dog - a bully called Pablo - from him.

Sources close to model Freddy told the Daily Mail that he is struggling with the idea of co-parenting with Holly as things have become 'very difficult between them'.

'The pair have been arguing a lot recently. Having a baby so young is a lot to deal with. Both are quite flighty characters,' the insider shared.

'Freddy initially feared he was not the father, but has since done a paternity test which confirmed that he is the father.'

The news comes just hours after his father, Jeff, split from wife Kate again.

The pair first met in 2013, before tying the knot five years later in 2018 with Kate taking on the role of stepmother to Jeff's two sons Bobby, 22, and Freddy, 21.

Now Jeff shared a statement on Instagram on Tuesday, revealed his marriage broke down over summer after they discovered they couldn't make each other happy (pictured earlier this year)

Sharing a statement, he told fans: 'I’m so full of love and gratitude for Kate. For all we achieved, for how much we grew, for everything we endured.

'We separated in the summer and kept it private for as long as we could to give us some time to adjust.

'For 12 years we have been each others safe space, each others biggest supporters at a time when our lives have been busy, painful & complex.

'I'm so proud of how hard we worked, how we kept showing up, we gave everything and more.

'I'm also so full of respect and admiration for the successful career Kate has built and the way she cared for me unconditionally.'

Jeff said Kate, 35, is still in touch to check in on how his sons are doing, as Freddy prepares to welcome his first child.

The presenter continued: 'It’s credit to the woman she is that she still checks in to ask how the boys are doing because she is so invested in their lives.

'They love her and I have many friends that love her too. I will miss her family who always went above and beyond to support us.

'My words don’t tell the full picture because they don’t need to. We will carry on supporting each other and I know I’ll be celebrating her inevitable wins just like before.

'We both deserve complete happiness and we’re upset that we ultimately couldn’t be that for one another and It felt time to let it go.'

Jeff was seen without his wedding ring while reporting from Reykjavik on Monday's GMB, while Kate too reportedly ditched her band after heading to Las Vegas for the Grand Prix.

According to The Sun, Kate has returned to her flat in Hackney after growing apart from Jeff amid Freddy's struggles.

Jeff married Kate in 2018, and shared that he had 'honestly never felt loneliness like it' following their split three years ago.

Taking to Instagram at the time, Jeff said: 'I have so much to be grateful for and I appreciate facing the lessons I need to grow but this year has been challenging to say the least.

'My nine-year relationship ended earlier in the year and I've been working through that on top of supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult.

'The boys and I have recently moved home to a new area and I spend most of the time alone as the boys obviously have their own things going on.

'It's been constant change this year and I'm good with adapting but the combination of things have left me low at times.

'I've honestly never felt loneliness like it. Can we put Christmas back a few months?!'

But in July 2023, Jeff confirmed that he and Katie had reconciled, as he shared an Instagram video from their holiday together, with their wedding rings on full display.
